English Inc Belgium, Belgian Congo, Ruanda-Urundi, Netherlands, Aruba, Netherlands Antilles, Netherlands Indies, Netherlands New Guinea, Surinam, Luxembourg, booklets, miniature sheets, Framas, occupation issues, major overprint, perforation, watermark, and shade varieties and errors, design index, English/French/German/Spanish/Italian glossary# Philatelic Exporter review, courtesy of David Rennie (April 2010): Now with 389 catalogue pages in the larger "Concise" format, and with most illustrations for issues after 1910 in colour, this latest edition includes issues to October 2009 for Belgium; August 2009 for Aruba and Netherlands Antilles, but only to May 2009 for Luxembourg and Netherlands: (see Exporter September 2003 for review of 5th Edition). There are new Design Indexes for Netherlands, and Netherlands Antilles, and that for Belgium has been updated. The Netherlands Provincials issued in 2002 in connection with the Amphilex 2002 International Exhibition are included and priced in their own section. Since the last edition, prices have of course been revised for all the territories, but the Belgian Congo and Ruanda Urundi, which remain popular with collectors, show some very significant increases. In Belgian Congo, some Perf. 15 varieties have been added to the 1910 and 1915 issues, and priced. In fact, apart from new issues, the only new varieties added to the previous listings, are in those two countries. Have there really been no new discoveries worthy of catalogue status, for any of the main countries in the last seven years? The latest set of Guidelines to SG catalogues, and the International Philatelic Glossary are also included.  |
