To and From Modern Poland - A Journey Through Postal History

To and From Modern Poland - A Journey Through Postal History, by N Davies.

Published by Rosikon Press, 2008.  H/B, 710pp.

This two-volume set on the stamps, letters, envelopes and postcards sent into and out of Poland and Polish-ruled areas covers the period 1850 to 2005.  Postal items are presented in an historical context, beginning with the first stamps used in Prussia and the Austrian Empire in 1850 through to the Third Republic, which began in 1990.  Chapters are arranged chronologically, and sub-divided by geographical or thematic interests.  A guide to reading postal history is included.  Profusely illustrated in colour.
