PAKISTAN - Popular's Pakistan 2009 Published by Popular Enterprises. 368pp. Colour. English Inc Popular, Stanley Gibbons, Scott, Yvert & Tellier, and Michel catalogue;numbers, FDCs, booklets, officials, revenues, Bahawalpur, Las Bela ; Philatelic Exporter review, courtesy of David Rennie (January 2009): This edition follows closely the format of the last one (see Exporter March 2006) and now includes issues to October 2008.; As before the Sind Dawks, Bahawalpur and Las Bela issues are included, as are the Insurance and Revenue stamps. There is a useful Glossary and a Thematic Index to specific themes. The equivalent numbers for Gibbons, Scott, Yvert and Michel are given for each stamp. Where Pakistan issued a stamp for an international event - e.g. 2000 Sydney Olympics - cross references are provided to the SG numbers of the stamps issued by the other countries participating. The Nasik, Peshawar and Karachi over-printings on the Indian stamps are listed and priced individually, and include various watermark and overprint varieties.; Other varieties are also shown for later issues.; Prices are usually given for Mint, Used and First Day Covers. Tick boxes are provided for all issues. Unfortunately the review copy is not perfect; many pages are uncut mostly at the top, but some at the side as well; and in some signatures, the blue ink in particular shows through the paper to discolour images and text on the reverse page. |
