This new edition includes the myriad of new issues since 2005 up to October 2009, is produced in the enlarged "Concise" size, and occupies some 70pp less than the last edition, but regretfully the cover price increases by almost 50%.

It should be noted that as well as the older issues of Canal Zone, Guam, Hawaii, Philippines, Puerto Rico etc. it does include the issues of Marshall Islands and Micronesia, both to December 2009, Palau to July 2008 and the UN Office in New York to February 2010.

Some 90 new varieties are listed since the previous edition, and a list of these is provided. They include early Double Transfers of the 1850s period, many later Imperforate varieties, the chocolate brown shade of the Confederate New Orleans 5c etc. but the Hamburgh, South Carolina 5c has been deleted.

There are separate listings of Coil plate Numbers, Stamp Booklets and Commemorative Panels. The Design Index has of course been updated, and a new one provided for the UN New York issues. Prices have been revised, and comparison with the previous volume shows some remarkable increases especially in early classics.

As well as the usual notes, the six-language International Philatelic glossary is also included.
