ACS New Zealand and Len Jury New Zealand

These two publications arrived more or less at the same time and are very similar in format, both being A5 booklets with 96pp and 100pp respectively.  Both are full colour throughout and are the respective dealer's price list when published.

Price comparisons are difficult especially for the early stamps through to GV, since condition parameters vary, and so to, do the add-on premiums for well-centred copies. Both catalogues are simplified listings only with no acknowledgement to different perforations, watermarks, dies and plates etc.

It is no part of this reviewer's function to recommend one dealer over another: my review of comparative prices over a wide range of issues from GVI onwards, showed variances up and down on both sides, even for different conditions, (UM or FU), of the same set.

Both dealers give discounts for ordering above a certain total cost, and Len Jury offers a monthly prize draw, as well as a one off annual draw for all orders, the prize being a 1996 Teddy Bear UM.

The layouts inside follow similar patterns with officials listed after the appropriate postage issues, which also show miniature sheets and FDC prices; however the ACS prefers to list the Health and Xmas issues in separate dedicated sections.

Both catalogues include Ross Dependency.
