Philatelic Exporter review, courtesy of David Rennie (June 2010): Michel Germany Specialised Vol 1;& 2: Last year's edition (see Exporter June 2009) sold out quickly.; This year may well follow suit.; Now in full colour throughout, both volumes have numerous editorial amendments and updates. In Volume 1, there has been a complete revision of the German Empire issues from Mi. no. 338, plus Bohemia and Moravia; with updated captions, valuations for upper margin pieces (flat plate/rotary) and lower margin pieces with HAN (job numbers), and better illustrations of plate flaws etc. In volume 2 the Ulbricht series and registration stamps of GDR have been thoroughly revised. New issues are included up to April 2010 with many new colour illustrations. There are price changes in almost all areas! There are price cuts in the early years of Berlin, FGR and GDR, but there are some drastic price increases for Memel and Sudetenland. There are slighter price increases in many other areas, but with significant increases in specialized collecting areas such as proof prints, varieties, HAN, and rare sub types, Volume 1 contains classic German stamps from the "Schwarzer Einser" of 1849 to the end of the Second World War: Old German States, North German Confederation and German Empire, Local issues of 1923, Foreign Post Offices, Colonies and ship post abroad, Occupation issues of both Wars, the Plebiscite areas, Belgian military post in the Rhineland; Gdansk, Memel, Bohemia and Moravia, General Government, Sudetenland, field post stamps, local issues, war and propaganda forgeries.
