GERMANY - Michel Germany Stamps on Cover 2008/09 Published by Schwaneberger. 1168pp.;Colour.;German Inc single, multiple and compound franks, field post, forgeries, booklets, officials, postage dues, Framas ; Philatelic Exporter review, courtesy of David Rennie (November 2008): The latest edition, (the last was in 2005, see Exporter December 2005), is now in full colour throughout, and with issues now up to the end of 2002, expands with some additional eighty pages to 1168pp. It includes all areas together with the States and Colonies, the wartime and Zonal issues, also the 1922/3 Locals. The States sections include pre-stamp listings going as far back as the early 1700s. As before the prices are provided for the basic stamps used at the correct rate, multiples of the same issue to make up a correct rate, and mixed frankings.; Booklet panes have a separate section, as do Machine Vended Labels. There are useful tables of postal rates throughout, including the difficult Inflation period.; Shades and particular stamp combinations are also included when relevant, and there are many useful notes throughout. Almost 43,000 prices are provided, and have been revised to reflect latest market levels. Areas; where price changes have been significant and mentioned by the editors, include the Colonies and Overseas Post Offices, the Sudetenland issues, and; the General Gouvernement issue. |
