SWEDEN - Facit Sweden 2009 Published by Facit. 248pp. Colour. Swedish/English Inc booklets, officials, FDCs, locals, postage dues, year books, Swedish/German/French glossary Philatelic Exporter review, courtesy of David Rennie (May 2009): A standard catalogue with all issues to the end of 2008 now included, this volume has the additional benefit of listing both the early, the 1945-1947 period, and the 1991 to date Local Stamps. Perforation variations are included where appropriate, and set prices are given. First Day Covers and Booklets are listed in separate sections It is bilingual Swedish and English throughout the postage stamps sections, but the Local stamps section is only in Swedish. Prices for mint up to 1938, for un-mounted mint from 1886, and for fine used are given in the local currency. Stamps of minimum value are indicated with an "M", and it surprises me that more publishers do not adopt this practice. The first few pages contain illustrations of the various die differences where these are relevant, illustrations of the perforation variations, a short lexicon with German and French translations from the Swedish; also a list of dealers in Sweden. It is in full colour throughout on eye-friendly light blue non-glare stock. Each entry has two tick boxes. Annoyingly, for a £25 book, the covers are already starting to bend, and the pages even after "cracking" do not lie flat. |
